·      The MG Philippines exhibit at the 2022 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS,) dubbed “The MG Concourse @ MIAS 2022,” establishes MG’s rich automotive history that spans nearly a century, while simultaneously showcasing the brand’s youthful spirit.  The MG Concourse visually transforms by means of a special 3D-mapped “Spotlight Mode,” depicting iconic locations such as London’s Piccadilly Circus and The Bund in Shanghai; thus, demonstrating MG’s global, multi-cultural brand persona, and MG’s youthful and dynamic positioning.

At The MG Concourse, MG Philippines features two new exciting products: the 2022 MG HS SUV, and an upgraded variant of the widely popular MG 5 Sedan: the MG 5 Core Plus.

The MG HS SUV is the latest global MG model to join MG Philippine’s growing stable of vehicles, offering discerning motorists a modern, feature-laden, safe, and value-rich vehicle; premium features and style, a plush and comfortable ride, fine driving dynamics, and all for a very attainable price point. 

The MG HS SUV’s cabin features an ambient lighting system that can change color according to your preference. 

The HS is powered by a 1.5 inline-4 DOHC turbocharged petrol engine that produces 169PS and 250Nm of torque, mated to a smooth-shifting 7-speed Twin-Clutch Sportronic Transmission. It is also equipped with modern driver aids such as a Blind Spot Detection System, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, EPS 3-mode Adjustable Steering, push start-stop functionality, an electronic parking brake with autohold, and a proprietary “Sport Mode” that allows for crisper steering and throttle response. 

Outside, the new 2022 HS is a stunner: swooping body lines and an athletic stance give the HS a sporty profile, while MG’s signature Stardust Grille completes the vehicle’s athletic-yet-distinguished countenance. Up front, the HS features powerful LED headlights with 9-Crystal Lighting with sequential turn light functionality (also featured on the vehicle’s taillights.) The HS also rolls in style, riding on 18-inch Diamond Cut alloy wheels, which are standard across the model range.  

Until April 30, 2022, the MG HS is available for an introductory cash price of Php 1,158,888.00 for the MG HS SUV Alpha variant, and Php 1,208,888.00 for the Trophy variant.

Big On Value: The MG 5 Core Plus 

The MG 5 is one of the most recognizable options in its class for its large cabin and exterior dimensions, and feature-loaded package. This value proposition keeps the MG 5 Sedan true to its tagline: “Big in Features, Big in Comfort.” This year, MG Philippines launches the latest variant of this exciting model, which is the MG 5 Core Plus. The Core Plus builds on the strengths of the widely popular Core CVT variant, adding new features such as a 10-inch color display touchscreen equipped with both Apple Carplay and Android Auto; a reversing camera, for a more convenient parking experience; and two additional loudspeakers for better sound quality from the vehicle’s entertainment unit.

Underneath the hood of the MG 5 is a fuel efficient, 1.5-liter, DOHC 16V, naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 112 HP and a best-in-class torque output of 150Nm. Standard safety and convenience highlights of the MG 5 Core Plus include driver and passenger airbags, 4-wheel disc brakes, a Bluetooth handsfree system, cruise control, and a tire pressure monitoring system, just to name a few.
